Saturday, March 28th, 2009

Spirulina (Blue Green Algae)(Spirulina platensis) – Spirulina is a blue green algae which is found in warm climates. There are many different varieties that grow in oceans and lakes worldwide.

It has been referred to as nature’s most complete food and has many health benefits. Is a great protein alternative for vegetarians as it consists of 65% easily digestible protein.

Spirulina (or blue green algae) also provides tremendous amounts of vitamins, minerals and nucleic acids as well as 10 out of the 12 non-essential amino acids. It is also high in vitamin B-12, essential fatty acids and iron. Spirulina also has 10 times the power of beta-carotene which we get from carrots and produces 20 times as much protein as soybeans growing on an equal-sized area of land.

It also contains active enzymes which help our digestive system to break down fats, proteins and carbohydrates.

Spirulina provides much needed iron for women and children’s health. Iron is essential to build a strong body, yet is the most deficient mineral found in many people. Spirulina is a great source of iron, magnesium and trace minerals, and is easier to absorb than traditional iron supplements.

Spirulina As A Treatment For Chronic Disease

Spirulina has been known to have positive effects on people with chronic disease. It has been used in the treatment of diabetes, anemia, liver disease, ulcers, allergies, radiation posioning, chemical poisoning and senility. For those with hypoglycemia, it helps to stabilize blood sugar levels.

Spirulina is also very beneficial to people who cleanse or fast regularly. because it supplies nutrients which help the body to cleanse and heal while at the same time curbing the appetite. The amino acid structure of spirulina may influence neurotransmitters in the brain, in particular those which control appetite, ambition and mood.

“I want to help people, but not with network marketing.”

Wednesday, March 11th, 2009

Huh?

You want to help people but not if it’s network marketing?

A lot of network marketing companies have exceptional products. Those that don’t usually go out of business within a few years.

So if you know AND believe that a product can help people, why would you not want to share this information?

I recently had a conversation with one of my team members who has been having a dialogue with a person who is in a position where he helps people every day. Apparently this is his goal…”to help people…but not in network marketing.”

He is willing to “not” help people purely because of the distribution model. That is like saying if you had a cure for cancer but you wouldn’t share it with anyone because it’s only available from my darkest enemy….?

I don’t get it…..does anyone else?

2 Steps To Success In Any Network Marketing Business

Monday, March 9th, 2009

I’ve seen many people start a network marketing business with loads of enthusiasm only to see them a few weeks later off onto another business opportunity.

I call these people “network marketing junkies”. They get their “quick fix” or “high” for a couple weeks because they are excited about the money they dream of making or about the amazing product experience they had.

These people go from opportunity to opportunity without ever being successful in any of them. Eventually they “hit bottom” and network marketing has left a bad taste in their mouth. They then spread the word to everyone that network marketing is a scam or a pyramid scheme that doesn’t work.

So what sets these people apart from those that are making thousands of dollars a week or even millions of dollars a year?

I believe it’s only two small words that can make a huge different in whether you become a junkie or a millionaire.

Step 1 – Faith

You must have faith in yourself and in your company and products. Faith comes with belief. If you don’t think you can do it…you never will. If you cannot make yourself believe it over time, then you will never be successful.

In order to truly believe you can be successful in your network marketing business and to build your believe and in turn, your faith, try some of these suggestions:

  • Attend your company events
  • Participate in conference and training calls – as many as you can
  • Read “Think and Grow Rich” and any other books on self-development for other suggestions
  • Post visual clues around your house/office to remind yourself that you can do it. Be specific about what you want and when you want it.

Step 2 – Action

Take massive action. Money doesn’t grow on trees in network marketing, although sometimes the marketing might tell you it’s as easy as telling two friends – that’s just not how it happens. This is a real business and it needs a work horse to make it move.

You need to dedicate time every day or week. Be consistent with what you do. Be persistence with your actions.

  • Call every lead.
  • Follow up with every lead until you hear a “Yes” or a “No”
  • Learn how to attract people to you so you are not cold calling.
  • Find a millionaire mentor who is willing to spend time with you, not just on weekly conference calls and groups of other people…I mean one on one time.
  • Learn to prospect with confidence.

By building Faith and taking Action you should start to see results. The process will be slow but sure and will pay off in the end.

Direct selling and party business: Waste of time!

Friday, March 6th, 2009

Why would anyone looking for time and financial freedom want to be in the direct selling party business?

I just don’t get it.

You have to run around town missing out on time with your family. Parties are usually in the evening when most people spend time with loved ones.

Packing and unpacking, setting up displays, tearing down displays, in and out, weather, rain, hoping to make one time sales??? ….

Even if you sell something like makeup which would be considered a consumable, how long is it before someone has to replace their eyeshadow? I know there are expiry dates on these items but to be honest, my brown eyeshadow that I use nearly everyday has lasted for years.

I’ve heard that the commission % is higer than some other distribution models but that’s probably because there is more work involved.

I just hosted a party recently and looked closely at what the representative had to do. It was a Silpada party.

Sent me a hostess package in the mail: $8 shipping + $3-5 materials

Called all my contacts to invite them: 1-2 hours

Drive 73 km (54 minutes according to Google Maps) both ways: 2 hours

Setup and tear down time: 1 hour

The party itself: 2.5 hours

Package handout for those interested in doing a party: $2-4/each package (my best guess).

Total Sales for the party: $600

She may get 1 other person having a party out of it. She mostly likely will not have people who purchased from her at my party calling up to purchase more product on a regular basis.

So she spent approximately 7.5 hours on the party, gas, marketing/shipping expenses approx $20

I just don’t see the money making opportunity.

So I checked out the Silpada website and even if  you do 5 parties a week (which is probably not something any mother of young children would do) the average you will make in a year is $68,000.

Sorry but working 5 parties a week at approx 7.5 hours per party is full time hours and to only make $68,000 a year.

Really?

It may be ok for some people, but I want financial freedom. To be able to work only 4 hours a week and make millions. That is real freedom.

I guess we all have our own dreams.

Ask me about what I’m doing to create my financial freedom.
